Sufficient, yes. But it is also fun to learn new things when enthusiasts bother to use more detailed tags. :)

m1a1_thompson, or some variation thereof, would be less of a mouthful.

Well it looks like the tag is already thompson_submachine_gun so the alias saves typing.
