Etrian Odyssey/Sekaiju no Meikyuu classes

Posted under General

Class/character tags related to sekaiju no meikyuu are a bit of a mess. Some images are tagged with the English class names and others the Japanese, and the qualifier (etrian) is applied inconsistently- with the result that there are posts scattered under all three of curse maker, hexer and hexer (etrian). Some tags like medic, paladin, alchemist are conflated with FF, RO, and Battlefield 2 classes of the same name, and so on.

Before I start cleaning up, I wanted to ask opinions on some things:
1) Are the Japanese class names like curse maker, paladin, bard or English class names like hexer, protector, troubadour preferable? Precedent would suggest the former, but the English class names are better known and less ambiguous. And some of them sound cooler. Or dumber.
2) Should the (etrian) qualifier be used everywhere for consistency, even if the class name isn't an ambiguous tag? If we're preferring both Japanese class names and the Japanese game title, should it be (sekaiju) or something instead?

Hi, I was the one who started to write the characters names, but due to problems on RL and work I could't finished to tag them :/ (sorry)

I have got the same problem on point 1, so after seen the official website I've written the new names with _(etrian), following the example of ronin_(etrian) .

I'd like to standardize on the Japanese names since they seem to be in more common use. I'd also like to use a _(sekaiju) suffix if no one minds.

Can anyone provide a full list of the class names? I'll update the tags accordingly.

Roger. English versus Japanese class names:
Landsknecht - Swordsman
Survivalist - Ranger
Protector - Paladin
Troubadour - Bard
Ronin - Bushidou
Hexer - Curse Maker
War Magus - Doctor Magus
Beast - Pet

Dark Hunter, Medic, Alchemist, and Gunner are the same in both.
