Tags you should (not) use

I have another question about the oekaki tag.

I just uploaded this image: post #155800, which I happen to know is an oekaki (obviously, since it was entered in a contest in oekaki.jp). However, if you just look at it plainly, it's hard/impossible to tell that it actually is an oekaki.

Should I tag those with oekaki or just leave them without it? It's kinda like, if you're looking for oekaki-like images, that isn't one you would really be looking for. On the other hand, the tag gives info on the image (it IS an oekaki image).

Another example (from the same dude): post #155805

If a character has black hair, should it be tagged as black_hair, dark_hair or both? It seems that black_hair is the more popular choice and dark_hair is pretty much unused, but I just want to be sure. Dark_hair seems a little unnecessary since there is a seperate tag for grey and black.

I'd say go through the dark_hair posts and if you know what the actual colour is, fix it. Sometimes it is hard to tell the difference between very dark brown or blue hair and black for example if the scene is dark itself.

I'm not sure what level user can use what features these days, but wildcards are possibly (e.g. *lucky*). Remember that tags cannot contain spaces so "lucky star" would search for images containing the "lucky" and "star" tags.
Danbooru did used to suggest similar tags if no results were returned but that seems to have been removed now.

Ohh.. well it looks like it because i'm just a normal member,
its really hard controlling the tagging system like this, if i made something wrong i can't watch the image i uploaded and edit the tags. >o<

I just noticed there's a tag "2girls" and if girls/women isn't an acceptable tag despite the plural, should 2girls really be a tag? Yuri is one thing, and since we seem to tag it for both yuri and shoujo-ai, I question any need for the tag if we don't consider girls or women a reasonable tag.

I definitely agree, I'll start adding them whenever I can. It's sometimes hard to define what a certain pose is of course, but in most cases I just didn't think of it.

I don't agree with what you did on post #166446.

We try not to have separate singular and plural forms for most tags because it would fragment the search results unnecessarily. However, there is no "girl" tag, nor there could ever be, so 2girls is not a problem from that point of view.

(This should be the right thread for this, I think)

An alias of izumi_sakurazawa->sakurazawa_izumi would be in order. Even though the latter is follows Danbooru's standard of lastname_firstname, it has only 10 posts, when the former has 144 posts.

On my recent posts I actually added a tag "lying", though I don't know if that makes any sense. I mean, is it really this much important that there are streched/crossed/whatever arms/legs presented on a particular pic/gif/flash? Is it like "OMG! Crossed Arms! *Fap, fap, fap*"?
