Danbooru

[REJECTED] Tag alias: stone -> rock

I've been multiple times in doubt whether to use one or the other, and I don't think there's any difference, since there's effectively no difference between the two terms in how they're used on danbooru, and we already have boulder for large rocks. +1

Yeah, gonna have to agree with this one as it currently stands, however maybe the definitions could be tweaked so that this wouldn't be necessary.

Taking a look at stone_* and rock_*, then *_stone and *_rocks, it seems like the prevailing thought is that stones are wrought by man, whereas rocks are wrought by nature.

Therefore I'd like to propose switching up the definitions to account for that distinction, and then tag garden the current sets as they stand to match it.

Have to agree. When I think of stones (in English language), I think of something that is done by human (like stone_floor).

Four years later I wonder if keeping them separate is useful and what to do. Aliasing to rock will cause man-made objects to be tagged rock which nobody fluent in English would call them. Aliasing the other way seems a better idea since stone is a name for the substance that can form rocks or a synonym for rock.
Looking at both tags I don't see a significant difference and many mistags both ways. There are also many cases where it's impossible to tell if the stone is natural or man-made.
