redundant osmanthus (flower) tags

Is there any reason to keep osmanthus and osmanthus fragrans separate? They don't seem to have any difference when tagging anyway. Though for some reason someone wrote a very well elaborated wiki for osmanthus fragrans despite having 1 post (the other one was added by me), so I'm a bit confused?

Hello (^_^)
I think you should've make a BUR to alias all of them into a single osmanthus fragrans. In context of illustrations, such flowers are miniscule in size so often depicted not in detail compared to the main subject(s). Based on what other more-experienced users stated, the main purpose of tags is for the sake of searchability and visual components. Still, I would like to hear what others think about this issue.

Updated

Most osmanthus posts are going to be osmanthus fragrans. I think the binomial name should be the main tag. I would get rid of the 'osmanthus' tag or only use it when you don't know the specific subspecies.

The colours of osmanthus fragrans should maybe imply the main tag, but there aren't enough posts in those yet. Unless we think this is excessive and (a) orange flower / white flower should just be used instead, or (b) osmanthus fragrans shouldn't exist either because it's going to be one of the other tags.

Atm it seems like osmanthus fragrans is used when the flower is not orange or white. But this isn't really an "iPhone X shouldn't imply iPhone" scenario, though there is risk for too many tags added

I think the yellow ones should be gold osmanthus too. Having a single umbrella tag with gold osmanthus and sliver osmanthus implicate to it sound like the way to go, but I'm unsure which should be the parent tag. How do non-osmanthus-fragrans osmanthus look like and do we have any post of them?
