The general shape is definitely derivative of the movie BFG, especially given how she already has so many other Doom parodies about her. The gun though definitely is unique enough to be it's own thing, likely to avoid copyright they couldn't make it too close to the original.

They're the exact same shape. See this render and post #7249921.
Points of similarity: Triangular indentation jutting out the front; Big stupid muzzle; Exact same handles; Ribbed along the bottom-front; Shares animation similarities with Doom (2016)/Doom Eternal's model (See 2016, Eternal.
Furthermore, the original pitch for the BFG 9000 was a rapid fire weapon, not unlike the one Elegg is using.
