Failbooru

Posted under General

I'm fairly sure it's just caused by bursts of traffic overloading the Apache queue. I'll try increasing the process count but short of getting another dedicated server for load balancing I don't think there's a long term solution for this.

Actually I notice now that traffic bursted in September through December and actually decline significantly again in January so it doesn't look like traffic is the issue. For whatever reason traffic fell sharply on December 28, which was around when the artist changes were deployed. But that doesn't really affect post listings much so I'm puzzled why it would cause increased resource usage. I'm going through past commits now.

Not sure if this is just me, but I've also noticed in just the last few days a huge slowdown when updating posts. Tag edits, approvals, voting. Think this could be part of the same problem (if other people are experiencing it as well)?

FWIW, I get the occasional (less than one per day) failbooru message while using Danbooru (they don't seem to be linked to any one particular feature), but they always go away within the minute after a few refreshes, and they don't affect anything else I'm doing on the site (so I can view another post in a new tab even as I'm getting a failbooru for posting a comment, for example).

I started to get failbooru when I was viewing my profile. It went away after a minute or two, but it was weird considering I rarely get failbooru from viewing my profile.. I'm still getting Failbooru whenever I try to upload certain images from Pixiv and when I try to edit tags within pictures. The latter happens every now and then.

Edit: Actually now that I remember it, tag edit related failbooru happens to me about twice every two or three days. Sometimes refreshing the page fix the problem.

It seems that I'm getting a failbooru message when trying to make a new artist. Seems to be an error in the /artist/create? url or something.

EDIT: Wait, it seems that it's the redirect from /artist/show? to /artist/create? (due to an artist not having an artist page), that's causing the failbooru. Basically, clicking on the ? beside an artist tag without the artist having a proper artist page yet creates the error.

Okay, seriously? I'm getting failbooru on almost every page except the forums.

I most especially get it every time I'm searching with metatags. It's really starting to get frustrating.

Edit: Actually, I'm mostly getting it with Wiki and any time I search more than one tag. I also don't seem to get it with the actual /post/show/ either... Kind of odd.
