When you comment on a post (i.e. image) without checking the 'No bump" button, it bumps the post to the top of the comments section, so anyone who's looking will notice. So, yeah, try to only do this sparingly on older posts (well, newer ones too, but people take more offense at older ones), especially if you have nothing, well, "constructive" to say. This wiki page has a set of guidelines and suggestions.

There's nothing wrong with your earlier comment though. I've only mentioned the above to clarify things. Plus it's a good idea to read through the rules anyway, to avoid possible friction with the mods or other users later on.
