Edit: If there's a peace accord, then who ruined the expedition? And how? I mean, the expedition included two light cruisers, five torpedo cruisers, and one heavy cruiser... That's some heavy firepower.

Expeditions are usually non-combat anyway, and some of them involve acquiring and transporting a specific resource. Weather could play an issue even with no enemies. (Plus I don't think all the Abyssals are friendly yet.)

As for the expedition, they only have one light cruiser (Tenryuu), one heavy cruiser (Ri), and four destroyers (6thDesDiv). Chi and Tatsuta are sitting this one out (in a practice match).

Or specifically aviation battleships.
Or seaplane tenders.
Or Submarines.
Submarine tenders...
and of course drums for some.
Then there's flagship level
And sometimes fleet level...

fun. Especially when you first get submarines. ( just take whatever the SS requirement is and make another ship the flagship, instead of levelling them beforehand, it's quicker )

That makes sense, given this is the first of the three chapters. So I guess, if you count the ending of "Abyssal Fleet Girls Roster": than only Wo, Ta, Ru, Ka, Chi, Ri, and Southern Ocean Oni (she appears in the last panel of the final page) are on the base.

At the start of ANB 2: Battleship-Symbiotic Hime, Armored Aircaft Oni, Anchorage Oni, Airfield Hime, Isolated Island Oni, and Seaport Hime have joined the integrated fleet (Re appears at the very end). By the start of ANB 3: Midway Hime, Aircraft Carrier Oni, So-class, and Hoppo-chan have arrived at the Naval Base.

Plus, I mixed up the 6th Div Destroyer-Girls with the Submarine girls.

Just kidding. I guess you aren't familiar with the DDs and the torpedoes threw you off.

(That said, nearly all DDs have visible torpedoes, thanks to the IJN's fetish with their long lances. The 6thDesDiv are also usually the DDs that most people are familiar with, after Shimakaze. Same reason why Hoppo is popular.)

Generally, the destroyers look like elementary and middle schoolers, and the cruisers (light or heavy) like high schoolers(with a few office ladies). DDs usually have a single cannon (sometimes two) which they wield like SMGs (sometimes like pistols). They generally have torpedoes strapped to their waist or hips in some sort of launching apparatus.

Cruisers generally don't wield their cannons,and have the bolted to their rigging or forearms (the latter tends to make the cannons look pitifully small compared to the DD's). Torpedoes are usually not seen.

Battleships generally look like young women with huge cannons. their clothes tend to be influenced by traditional Japanese clothing.

Carriers also usually wear traditional garb (and they tend to less modified than their battleship counterparts). Most of them have either an archer or Onmyou (a type of taoist-influnced sorcerer) motif.

Submarines are usually easily identifiable, as all of them wear swimsuits. They usually carry oversized torpedoes (okay, they're technically more to scale).

Actually, I've gotten a lot better at differentiating the classes. I just see the "kaze" Destroyers more often than the Akatsuki girls. Plus, I had momentarily forgotten about the fact that the Submarines wear bathing suits. Really, the grown women don't give me as much trouble, it's keeping track of the young/younger girls that throws me...

So many "lolis" (just kidding) to keep track of this fandom. XD

Also, how many pages are missing yet? The way this one has been uploaded is kinda crazy

At least it's not Arpeggio of Blue Steel, where, like, all the subs are loli, aircraft carriers assault & supression vessels are loli, even one third of the battleships and cruisers are loli... I guess they have to fill the loli quota somehow because most destroyers don't have a mental model.

(Except Arpeggio Yukikaze, who's a badass, like the RL ship, and to a certain extent, Kantai's Yukikaze.

Also, Vampire, I think? Haven't read that far yet.)

I originally purchased Chapters 2 and 3, thinking that the "extra" was the first chapter. But as I did more digging, I realized that Minarai Honpo made three doujins following the events of "Abyssal Fleet Girls Roster". The "Extra" chapter (which he did free on pixiv) is a prologue to the H-Doujin (mentioned above), which is followed by the three "Abyssal Naval Base" doujins.

I decided to take a break from Chapter 3, because I found a copy of chapter 1- which sets up some of the gags/jokes/plot points in chapter 2 and 3. Right now, I need to re-scan the Ch1 bio page (because the scan is crooked), and there's seven more pages of Ch1 (including the back cover). After that, I'll return to uploading Ch3.

Carriers Arent all Lolis in Blue steel. At least American ones aren't.
