Are the girls in panel 4 all bokukko? If so, the trait connection tag needs to be added.

They use boyish language (boku is the masculine reference to self, and is less elegant than watashi), sometimes boyish looks (see Suiseiseki), and usually display an energetic and outgoing or boisterous personality unlike the traditional yamato nadeshiko demureness that was seen as the ideal for feminine behaviors.

Every one of the shipgirls in the comic is a bokkuko, which is why it's titled "tlThe 6th boku".

And Matsukaze (the shipgirl, not that dog admiral) is looking like the type of shipgirl that I like.

I think it means talking using the Masculine form of words to describe yourself. Might be wrong.

Ah, sorry. Accidentally voted down while trying to reply...

But yes, all of them use 'boku' to refer to themselves, which is used by 'less masculine' boys (compared to 'ore') or 'tomboy-ish' girl.

If you rank the 'basic' ones:

    More Masculine

    Ore
    Boku
    Watashi

    Less Masculine

For girls, there are also 'Atashi' (below Watashi) or in very formal setting, 'Watakushi'.

...honestly, there are too many ways to say 'I' in Japanese. In Kancolle alone, there are also Wagahai, Warawa, and others.

You "could" also add Tenryuu to the mix with her usage of "ore" but she's mostly seen as a Chuuni though than a Tomboy.
