It's a visor that gives her the HUD in game

Actually, It does make sense from a practical perspective. She isn't the only fictional Robot girl to still use visors. Persona's own Aigis(and her sisters) do it as well.

A visor can double as protective armor but also, it's easier to maintain an outer helmet should it break/shatter than constantly having to replace/implant new eyeballs(or half your head) from constant battling.

Another thing would be "why should robots wear clothes" where the answer of "Blending in" wouldn't suffice. Just having normal pockets or binds for coats is prefereble to having storage be inside your body. Ironically, once said body pocket is emptied out (either holding a knife/gun) then it just becomes a useless hallowed out hole in your body with less armor on it.

you don't get it, if the visor only provides the in-game HUD then in the game it's basically just a display. you can just have it realised thru software, 2b doesn't need an external display for those things

Wildfire has a point. A robot wouldn't need to be told their status. Ideally, a combat android wouldn't need these things either through a HUD or retinal display, they would just know.

Chalk it up to redundant design to prevent tampering, or just game logic.

You just said it yourself, "Ideally". Many times in fiction is technology layered on top of technology as a way to improve them without rebuilding from the ground up.

We dont know how advance the robots are yet without playing the game. Again I use Aigis as an example but other robots from other japanese fiction have done it too.

The most common answer on relying on external equipment is because the original android needed to look as human as possible to blend in or keep humans at ease.

Ever see Steampunk robots before? Hardly the epitome of tech i'd say.
