This page probably could have been better sequenced, as it stands when the guy gives his old friend the doughnuts, which is placed at the very bottom left of the page is just plain confusing, cohesion wise. I really wonder why the artist decided to draw it like this.

Slightly different. He's not giving them to her in that panel, she's asking if she can have all of them, and he's motioning that she can.
