Speaking of Yat-Sen, it seems that Wikipedia calls her Yi Xian instead. Does anyone know why?
Yat-sen: Wade-Giles romanization Yi Xian: Modern Pinyin romanization
Wade-Giles is much older than Pinyin, and more commonly used by non-Mainland Chinese and westerners. Pinyin is slowing taking place of Wade-Giles, but resistance from older generations (who got used to this anyway) and non-Mainlanders are still considerable. Because you know, using a Communist creation makes you a Red sympathizer!! Holy McCarthy!! O The Horror!! That was a joke, but old habit sure does die hard. Simply put, most westerners have trouble reading Pinyin, and most Chinese have trouble reading Wade-Giles. The last thing you want is having an article with both romanization styles.
