Makes you really wonder what incentivized her to be an Ultimate Made in the first place.
i think we all know or witness some "perfect saints (especially teen girls among them)" like Kirumi in our life, crafted paragons for common youths like us
they have the stunning temperament, flawless academic (or whatever tested) performance and always trying to follow the equivalently stringent moral standards
exert themselves to sincerely believe and follow the values & lifestyles recommended by the rulers (being volunteers in the poorest regions etc), being nice and patient with everyone, absolute decency in every aspect
I think Kirumi is designed based on these flawless rule followers, people who are strongly ambitious, usually end up being the head assistants of some ruling institutes
As for the character, we all see the something, she never bothered to lead (Kaede, although it was futile) or fuck (Kokichi) people, spent time in delivering dispensable kindness because there are no guidelines to follow in danganronpa so she stuck on what she is most familiar with: being decent; then snapped in accidental memory and committed murder, for the decent sake of everyone outside.
And I personally think Kirumi's execution is strongly symbolic: a nasty yet distinct path to "climb up", so she grabbed the thorn with terrible determination regardless the agony, sweat, blood, and the insult of being intentionally stripped, then reached the beautiful blue on the top, and figured out the guided goal is nothing but a piece of garbage put to laugh at her effort (something she surely suspect at start, but no hesitation anyway).
I don't think my interpretation of Kirumi's execution is overdramatic.
But of course, these paragon youths are better than at least 99% individuals, in literally any aspect.

while in current world, Kokichi in the real world would also choose the path of Kirumi in his teenage period, if being a rebel is too boring for them
