-300 Points for including an illicit character in the title. Which always makes my computer squeal, pointing out that 'NO SUCH FOLDER EXISTS' until I hunt out the bad character.
Do not use any of these common illegal characters/symbols:# pound% percent& ampersand{ left curly bracket} right curly bracket\ back slash< left angle bracket> right angle bracket
asterisk
? question mark
/ forward slash
blank spaces
$ dollar sign
! exclamation point
' single quotes
" double quotes
: colon
@ at sign[/b]

Actually there are more, particularly for Windows users, poor things. Then again Microsoft always overcomplicated things.
I think that has nothing to do with searching for pool's names. There are even tags with a forward slash in them, so I don't quite get your point since searchability isn't minimized..
That is only if the site saves the pool name as the name in its web directory. Danbooru doesn't do that, instead it assigns integers for its "name", or ID would be more appropriate. Like, /pools/13559 or /posts/3053495.

Saving any properly named Fate-related media has always been a problem since Type-moon had the genius idea of including a forward slash in Fate/stay night. This also means that your operating system is completely unrelated because the forward slash is one of the two characters not allowed in file names across all common operating systems (the other being a null byte).

Where is the illegal character?
It’s coming from the pool’s title, as Claverhouse said. Whatever downloader he’s using is getting it from there without sanitisation.
You pretend to look down on Windows users yet you don't look so smart to figure out is your own fault either.
That's not Danbooru's problem, though. We aren't gonna start excluding characters from pool names because someone's download method isn't smart enough not to include them.
Check how the tag for the series is spelled. The forward slash is in there. Hell, the app on my phone is the same way. It's the proper title for the source work. This really is not Danbooru's problem, it sounds more like you just need to alter your method slightly when creating Fate-related folders on your computer. It ain't the end of the world.
Trying to impose your own will on Unix or any other operating system doesn't work out that well. And makes Danbooru look dumb.
No it does not. Danbooru is a website, its contents should not, and will not directly affect whatever OS the user is using, since they are seperate systems. (If it does, something is very wrong) There is no reason for a developer to consider characters that are illegal on a seperate system should be banned when it is legal in its own system.
I don't use a downloader --- I copy the title-name and paste that on a new folder > and copy the image from the browser.
If I include a forward slash or backslash it refuses to make the folder
.
Not that it matters: some people seem so ignorant of computers they don't realise that Some Characters Are Illegal for most OSs as kittey says.

You are looking very dumb now. Danbooru doesn't use pool titles to folder store their files. And when they do use them, they're smart enough (unlike you) to not use illegal characters as previously I demonstrated.
Yet I understand your situation. Your hardware comes from the past Millenium, you can't move to a modern OS because you can't afford it. Or maybe you can't upgrade because your brother can handle his machine pretty well yet you need something easier for your needs like Windows. I refuse to believe Unix derivative users are this retarded excepting maybe Mac users. Even Windows warns you when you paste an illegal character AND removes it automatically when renaming a file.
Maybe the web should also stop using Unicode characters too, because obviously your outdated OS can only see ASCII characters. How does it feel to live yet in 1997?
