Err... this is a SL8. Not G36. It even reads so on the gun itself.
SL8 is a civilian market version of the G36, with some modifications like standard thumbhole stock and semi-auto action. Also, this one here seems to have its ironsights removed and replaced with a scope.

you're right,my bad thanks for setting me straight on that,I was just a cop not a small arms specialist Hell,other than when I had take it to the range for qualification,the only time I realy handled my M-4 on a regular basis before shipping out to Iraq was to take it back and forth between the armory and the trunk of my patrol vehicle.
Even after I got to Iraq I rarely carried the M-4 once I got my hands on an M-249 with the bull-barrel,forward grip and para-stock

I don't think this gun was "developed for reserve units".
btw, nobody mentioned the G36C-style sight rail - the stock SL8 has a longer rail.
