I dunno why you said that as if AL even gave you a choice in the matter. Canon Ark is 99% destroyercon, it's impossible to ignore. i think KC Kaga has the advantage of being a stoic, cool person who fits the classic Yamato nadeshiko vibe. I mean even her damaged and sinking lines show no real emotion. Her rivalry with Zuikaku also adds some flare to her personality. It tends to be satellite characters tend to be less popular, especially if they have no personality outside of what they orbit.
