There are actually lots of people who don't consider HDMI such a win. The connector has no option whatsoever for any kind of locking mechanism, which is a big minus, whether you personally need it or not. But I guess it still did win over its competitors in the general consumer market. I'd like to believe the majority of PC enthusiastics would still prefer DisplayPort. However, that might be just my misconception.
