I'll be honest : I'm glad it's just a drawing, because I have no idea how to feel when I see her smiling happily despite her rotten limbs, her ears full of holes, and the bandages covering most of her face.

Honestly, I'm amazed she isn't in septic shock at this point.

It's all she's ever known thanks to the memory loss. When that is the base normal I imagine it's not that hard to find happiness when things are getting better and you are being treated well.

Even I don't think they would restore lost body parts. In terms of D&D/pathfinder, she likely needs a "Greater Restoration" spell and maybe a "Regeneration" spell as well. Maybe a "Heal" spell could do as well, but those are hard to come by.

Yeah, but that's the point of this trip they're on in the first place. He's been able to keep her from getting worse, and restore some of her capabilities, but to go any farther in her recovery they need to see his friend who has stronger medicine/magic/whatever. I just said elixir and hi-potion as they were decent general/recognizable "keep you from dying" items.

    Hi-Potion discussion

It is stated that Hi-Potion is the option, but it will burn her lifeforce ("at the cost of lifespan"), so pharmacist went hard way.

You're right. But still, seeing her smiling in that state makes me so conflicted, I don't know if I want to smile or cry.

I'm a little worried about the Medicine Merchant too. Guy obviously has some baggage of his own.

Kind of hoping she'd never remember where her home was or that it's impossible to get her back there. I feel like as long as her tormentors are still around, it's moot to return her to the forest she belonged. I doubt Mr. Medicine Merchant here can beat whoever high-profile people who kidnapped and used her too. Better for him to just keep her safe and keep her on the down low than try to return her home or deal with her kidnappers.

Just keep in mind that this land's humans are jerks, since she was sold to the medic to be chopped up and used as medicine ingredients.
If that's how they see and treat elves, the medic is going through extreme risks trying to help her.

At the same time, the medic's patients have been nothing but helpful to him and her, and he's not exactly been hiding that he has her there. Assuming his friend is human, it also speaks that there is another medic willing to treat her. I'd say the humans of this world are a mixed bag, not much difference from real life in that regard.

I mean DnD is americn.. in games like say pokemon Hi-potions heal a significant amount of health same in alot of j-rpg so they might be using j-rpg logic vs DnD plus if elf skin as mentioned in the beging has some truth to the medicinal properties' it might give her slightly better healing speed or something would make sense

To be fair, Sword World and Record of Loddoss War are basically D&D with the serial numbers filed off. (They mainly change the game to be based upon 2d6 instead of 1d20 since d20s weren't common in Japan at the time.) Most TTRPG references in Japan are to games that are direct copies of D&D, although there isn't the single dominant game like D&D is in the US, and some popular ones are also classless and point-buy like World of Darkness games. Still, regardless, they tend to avoid just pure HP-based combat, and things like having a limb chopped off would be more than something just a HP potion can heal.

    Ah......
    *Crunch*

We continued to walk for half a day, but perhaps due to walking cautiously, time passed quickly and we needed to camp out for the night. Come to think of it, we hadn't had the chance to sit down and chat since her detox, so this was the first time we got to talk about various topics...
This precautionary equipment is heavy... I messed up
Could you tell me... your name...?
    *Pop...*
    *Crackle*
    *Scratch*
    ...Okay... Nice to... meet you

Well, I'm an apothecary, so if you want to call me by that
    Mr... Apothecary.
Ordinarily one would try to probe further into such a dubious answer, but Reszurre so cheerfully accepted it that it put me at ease. Our relationship will only last for the short time of treating her and returning her home. ...There's no need for her to know me all that well...
