False. They patched that exploit, first by making her drop the needle if you kill her after helping her, and then by just giving her a barrier (D's brother has one as well) that outright prevents you from "accidentally" killing her.
I genuinely don't understand the point of the barrier, as it's the very end of her questline and they already patched out the explot to get both talismans. Similarly, D's brother contributes almost nothing, only being useful for getting D's weapon if you didn't kill him yourself, and doing literally nothing if you did kill D since you already got both his armor and weapon.

It was very easy to accidentally jump/fall on her and kill her. the barrier is just to prevent that.

The barrier was put on her because a lot of people were accidentally killing her via fall damage.
