Added gameplay mechanics tag because in the last panel, Vira activates "Aegis Merge" which effect includes taking all the damage for the entire party until her bit count runs out or after 3 turns at maximum. I guess in this context, she's hogging the party-wide fun for herself.

Vira is Katalina-sexual, it looks more like she wasn't interesting in being Gran's partner, cause it doesn't look like he can get through that barrier.

Gotta second this, she's much less of a Katalina exclusive when she joins and gets to know the Captain (more so if the avatar's a girl, since she's at least bi, but more likely a full on lesbian with fixation issues) She still dislikes being touched by them even in her most extroverted form.

I think it was Albion the one who activated the merge, not Vira herself, since her level 100 fate episode was all about of confirm Vira true feelings for Katalina (Ares) and test the conviction to be with her.

So for me it was the Primal Beas who "saved" Vira from being touched for anyone aside of Katalina.

That actually makes their relationship slightly more romantic, but still very stalkerish.

Well, we're not gonna know for sure unless it gets translated. At the very least I looked up what Aegis Merge does, and this:

    Impregnable Barrier Lvl 1 ⇧ Lvl 95

When Status Aegis Merge is active: 1000% boost to DEF, 100% boost to debuff resistance, receive all attacks in place of allies (including all-ally attacks), and Refresh effect (Healing cap: 999).
    At level 95:
Also mitigate damage taken by 1500.
Refresh effect healing cap increased to 2000.

makes me think that not only is Gran not getting anywhere with her, he's not getting anywhere with anyone in that room while that barrier exists.

The fact of the matter is Vira is a horrible character that the writers have made to pander to *all* the people who like her. As a result, she's pretty much stagnated and her goals and interests have been thoroughly minimized.

As for gameplay mechanics, Narm and Kubira *also* have All-Sub. And the All-Sub that matters is the one that was last cast.

That same episode she said you were good friend and said if she knew you before kat then maybe she might've dated you. Then there's her 5* fate that just reinforces the mc is just a good friend like and making it clear that she's not becoming player sexual. I honestly don't even know why people want vira to be player sexual when the game is filled with other characters that are more than willing to love the player.

Because people have their favorites and people are greedy. Also that you're acting like there hasn't been heaps of pressure to make Vira more and more gay.

My thoughts on the matter is that Cygames has gone "We've given you hints for either pairing so just go with what one you like the most." because despite all of the shipping hints they've given for the various characters in the game (MC sexual or otherwise) you can still count the number of actual pairings in GBF that have become canon on one hand.

I can't think of another character who was derailed for the sake of shipping. At least no where near as badly as Vira's been.

Silva, Song, Meg, and Anne all say hi.

I'd include Grea as well, but at least she got back on track with her most recent fate episodes.

Grea and Anne have been "lovers" ever since they were introduced in the game, and Summer Grea/SSR Grea have just solidified their relationship, while allowing some wiggle room to opt in threesoms with the Captain.

Silva and Song get on-going character development outside of the ship. If anything, they kind of tease it, but their core aspects and relationships remain intact. Silva as an exile was able to return home, but she's still devoted to her extended adopted family and interacts with the gun-sisters. Meanwhile, Song is still a leading member of the Eternals and struggles to fit in on a general basis, even if she's come a long way. Silva and Song can even interact with one another without it being weird.

Meg is a joke character they decided to take seriously for some reason. She's actually pretty offensive when you get down to it, with Meg abandoning her dream of a knight-in-shining armor so she can become a super hero who defends a resort island. The Meg story-line can be summed up as "men suck!"

Cygames tried to take their dragonness waifu away from the fans for a crack shipping and the fans got rightly *pissed*. They tried to make something of it, but they walked that shit back. I'd really like them to do more with Mysteria, but they keep focusing on those stupid magical bicycles for some reason.

Vira meanwhile had every interesting and potentially interesting aspect of her character stripped away so she can be super gay for Katalina. The only time she deviates is when they tease at her liking the danchou because at one time, Vira wasn't super gay, and actually seemed like a pretty cool character lots of players developed the hots for.

I donno what they mean about a crack pairing, but Anne and Grea have been at least an intimate friendship ever since their Mysteria event. There is some shipping with the Captain in Grea's events mostly due to them accepting her dragon traits without staring but that's about it. Anne on the other hand is fully Grea-sexual,

Grea and Anne had a story-line in RoB where the tensions between their kingdoms reached a zenith and best friends became bitter enemies. Grea was originally paired with the player character, while Anne was with Owen, her childhood friend and knightly retainer. There was nothing other than that, but crazy shippers going to ship.

This story-line would be revisited in Shadowverse after a fashion, with new versions of Grea, Anne, and other related characters alluding to it.

Fast forward to GBF, Mysteria is more or less integrated into the setting verbatim. There's some homebrewed GBF stuff thrown in to make it more relevant. Anne and Grea are still best friends and that's it. Owen's also still there, along with the other Mysteria characters like Ms. Miranda. Grea and Anne had SSR units released together, along with Owen who was only an SR, but was at the time one of the most powerful in the game.

And instead of actually doing anything with Mysteria from then on, Cygames introduced Notmotorcycle gangs that basically have nothing to do with the original premise of fantasy races coming together at a magical school. So for the most part any further development of the original cast was completely derailed. Grea got a Summer unit that was one of the best around for awhile, and she got a Notbridal unit that revealed her backstory and family connections.

Anne's been more or less forgotten, along with Owen, and all the other Mysteria characters, besides Ms. Miranda who got a fairly powerful SSR unit released last year.

Besides all that, there was a Mysteria anime a few years ago that heavily ship-teased Anne and Grea. It was slow, boring, and sometimes creepy, with Anne keeping Grea's molting skin.

    Blatant misinformation

Ok so you've been spouting incorrect information for awhile about certain WLW ships so I'm just gonna put a stop to it. First let's talk about vira, she was always intended to be lesbian or at least heavily hinted to be one. Viras profile indicates what her preference is and her name is literally a allusion to the sapphic genre. Her ship with Kat is also the most consistent thing in the game going back to at least 2015 and her preference for girls going back that long as well with vira saying flirtatious line if your djeeta.

Now let's talk about your Anne and grea comment which in my opinion held the worst of the information and was just a straight up lie. Firstly Anne was never paired with owen, their relationship was nothing more than a knight and his charge exactly like it is shown the anime. Secondly grea's ship with Anne has been an ongoing epic in rage of bahamut spanning nearly all their cards. In regards to the anime all it did was take the drama and angst and made it a light hearted comedy instead and Granblue simply mixed the two.

Her ship with Kat is also the most consistent thing in the game going back to at least 2015 and her preference for girls going back that long as well with vira saying flirtatious line if your djeeta.

They revamped Vira's storyline to make her more gay.

Originally, the story was that Katalina lost on purpose during a tournament to decide the ruler of the island and host to the island's god. It was framed as being a great honor, sacred duty, and noble sacrifice all rolled into one, since they'd be charged with being protector while more or less being imprisoned on the island. So welching and quitting mid-match was a disgraceful thing to do. The one who she 'lost' against was Vira, who ended up winning the tournament. At the time, she accepted the result, but she nursed a grudge due to being imprisoned and that her role-model and idol cheated in such a way, leaving Vira to bear the consequences, the loss of her freedom.

Her goal therefore was to punish Katalina by forcing her to be imprisoned like herself.

But they more or less walked all that back. Katalina and Vira are portrayed as dunces who didn't want to become ruler of the island and could have each thrown a match at any point in the tournament against numerous opponents. It's only during the final that they hesitate. Vira only cares about being with Katalina, she's okay with sacrificing herself and being imprisoned for her sake. The grudge aspect, the little thing that makes her into the crazy yandere that people love, that's pretty much gone. It's still there, but the reason for it has been erased.

Vira doesn't care about being a knight. She doesn't care about protecting people. She doesn't care about her family. There are no good points to Vira. At all. She only cares about Katalina who she constantly *CONSTANTLY* pressures into reciprocating her feelings, guilt-tripping her every chance she gets.

And to top it all off, she literally steals the god of the island that taught her how to be a knight, leaving it without it's guardian deity. In in a setting and story that had consequences, that would have eventually lead to a dire outcome that she would have been directly responsible for. In fact, things like that *have* happened, where a god ran off with the Crew, leaving their island defenseless. But it won't happen to Vira, because she's protected from bad things happening to her *because* of her.

Cygames even went so far as to write both Katalina and Vira as being reincarnations of ancient gods, fated companions and blah blah blah. It's disgusting.

As some whose only experience with the characters is from an event in Princess connect they do certainly seem close. However, from an admittedly shallow and short period of internet research, there seems to be a rather large number of people or at least a vocal group who share his opinion when it comes to the character relations in RoB. At least in the original/early lore. As in several of those conversations/arguments, I was reading there were also notes about they were changing the lore in some of the more recent cards and in-game events.

Now I am fully aware that this could be a situation where the same untrue story gets repeated again and again until people come to accept it as truth. But a lot of people really do seem to believe Anne was originally teased to be with Owen while trying to set up Grea with the Player Character. Of course, it could also be a case where people are in fact romantically interested in more than one person that does happen sometimes and in many games with PC insert a character that character is frequently the target of at least some of that interest for the obvious reasons.

I admit to not having a first hand account as far as RoB goes. I don't think the game was ever properly translated into English, I may be going off whatever you're going off. From my experience with GBF, I'm really not seeing the GreaxAnne thing. It's an introvert and extrovert becoming friends. It's cute.

    More incorrect information

Let me get this out the way now the primals aren't gods they are tools of the astrals made for either war or to maintain the broken balance of the skyrealm, they can "bless" an island with their power giving it protection or offering the people a boon of some sort. It was also established that certain primals could leave their respective islands for a time for example tiamat, luminera and noa have been shown to be able to do this.

Vira never stole luminera since that would be redundant because luminera is bound to vira through contract. Likewise luminera never taught vira to be a "knight", the primal didn't even teach vira swordplay that was katalina. The entire reason she was yandere was because of the grudge of katalina leaving her, a grudge that had nothing to do with her position as lord of Albion or the fact that Kat threw the match, vira was simply angry that katalina left without her. Eventually vira's mental state would get worse because vira couldn't relay her feelings to katalina choosing instead to bottle it up, this action caused her mental health to deteriorate so much that Luminiera had to hijack her mind in order to save her mind from completely breaking. Katalina and vira being tied by the string of fate just reinforces the ongoing story between the two, a story that has been ongoing since 2015 making it one of the longest character arcs in the Granblue series.

The fuck? No she hasn't. Vira has been getting more and more Katalina-sexual, just opening her heart to being friends with other people. Her dialogue in regards to MC in her valentine fate episodes is about her finding a comrade in them because someone willing to eat Katalina's toxic chocolates to spare her feelings is someone who thinks on a similar wavelength to her. It spans over several years of you knocking yourselves out on Katalina's cooking and you form a bond. A huge point of her Grand version was that she was going to open her heart to allow herself to get close to people, as seen in the 3rd Lowain Event and her Wind version, both of which take place after Grand Vira.

She views you as an irreplaceable friend, not a romantic partner. Even if you're Djeeta, you still have the Caveat of "Katalina is around, but if she wasn't, you would be the kind of girl I am into"
