So she is now protecting a neuroi from who knows what?, she is going to be labeled as a traitor.

You know, seeing Amaki in this photo protecting the neuroi and seeing that the neuroi has long hair, the first thing that came to mind to me was that Masuzu was neuroi-fied and that Amaki was trying to stop them from killing her. Still I can't wait to see what Fumikane draws next.

I never thought about that but the neuroi girl indeed resembles Masuzu if you look at other pictures of her and the first picture of "cold winter".

but that leads to more questions, if it's indeed neuroified Masuzu then it's obviously a Neuroi plot therefore the Neuroi have no reason to kill her, then is it the humans trying to kill Masuzu thinking it's a random neuroi?.

It will make the scene much more epic, and Amaki would be in a much harder situation having to fight her own species to protect her sister.

Anyway, the intriguing part is the first part of the story that mentioned Masuzu has disappeared sometime before this 1947 story begin and that the main protagonist (the person planning Warlock project in first season?) had Neuroi-Masuzu tailing behind him. But there’s still big hole between the part 2-3-4 story.

BTW, in the first season and early second season, Neuroi only copy the shape of Witches, don’t they ?

A few seem to do so. Other Neuroi not so much.

At any rate I find the concept of a witch being Neuroified to be a pretty interesting, fascinating and compelling theme from a narrative standpoint. If it really is a Neuroified Masuzu then you gotta wounder what she must be thinking about the predicament she's in and wither humanity will either help reverse her condition or destroy her?

Though knowing Amaki it will be a cold day in hell before she lets anyone kill her sister.
