BUR #4467 has been rejected.
create alias nijigasaki_academy_uniform -> nijigasaki_school_uniform
Self explanatory, it's a school uniform, plus it being an *_school_uniform tag would automatically add school_uniform which is often missing from uploads and requires constant gardening

Well I'm up for aliasing all non-standard "academy/college/whatever" because they are all really just schools. I mean what's in a name? Why is this so important to some people? I really don't get it.
So the outcome will probably be one of the following:

Not bloody likely.
The nuclear option.
The most likely option and a Danbooru tradition. In that case, let the people that want to keep these the same do all of the work of making sure that there are no school uniform misses.

You know that we do have things such as official translations for many of these. If the official translation uses academy as the term, why would you just want to invite confusion by renaming it to "school" to enforce a uniformity, especially when we're moving toward utilizing official naming more and more?

Unfortunately that would simply not work, unless you want to at some point end up with a military academy uniform ending implicating school uniform. I mean sure it would be a "school uniform", but I think it would be tagging something that wasn't intended for the school uniform tag to be used for.
I think we'd simply have to manually do the implications for these, where necessary, or maintain the current system. The nuclear option seems kind of a silly proposal given that these uniforms are visibly identifiable. I doubt you're being serious with the suggestion, but if we were to go with that, then I don't see why we couldn't apply the same logic on nuking some of these various specific swimsuit tags, especially the ones using character tags.

I'd say that if it's school uniform then it should be tagged as *_school_uniform, keeping it as as academy_uniform because of reasons is all kinds of silly and just makes it easier to miss school_uniform

I checked both, *_college_uniform and *_military_academy_uniform and both are only a very few posts I would say a nuclear option is not something that should be out of consideration. Not sure about the etcetera that has been implied here. Compare this to *_academy_uniform which is a lot. But replacing academy with school or putting school after academy I think would just looks silly.
Edit: To be fair, it can be confusing as hell. Gakuen in Japanese is usually for institutions that encompass multiple schools of different generations like the Shuuchin Academy but then there's the Noble Academy in which case it means it's simply a very prestigious institution and nothing else. And then there's the difference between gakuen and gakuin as well.
Edit2: The way I see it, it could go two ways: either create implication *_academy_uniform -> school_uniform or rename *_academy_uniform -> *_academy_school_uniform. Sorry for the lot of edits, I'm in the middle of thinking about all of this.
Edit3: then there's *_gakuen_uniform, *_gakuen_school_uniform, *_gakuin_school_uniform, *_gakuin_uniform that could go either way.
