With respect to ;D (one eye closed) differing from :D (both eyes opened), XD should no longer have the :D implication, as both eyes are shown closed, like >_<.

My opinion is the same as in forum #180497.

EDIT: To clarify: I don't mean I don't like the XD tag, I mean there is no reason to remove this implication if we aren't gonna keep the |D tag.

It saves precious search terms for non-builders to search for stuff like (:D + closed_eyes) or (:D + >_<) with just |D and XD, respectively.
Let's not forget members are limited to 2 searches, so it will be a lot more useful if they can add a copyright/character tag to their emote search, which would otherwise be taken up by an extra tag for the eyes without these tags.

I realized my initial post was very unclear, I have edited it to better get my opinion across.

Your clarification is moot because my first reasoning in this topic was that because ;D exists, :D now implies that both eyes are open, so :D doesn't belong with XD -- a closed-eye expression.
It's why I also push |D, because :D + closed_eyes won't make sense for a solo picture.

The alternative, of course, is to just nuke ;* & |* tags, and tag closed_eyes where necessary, but I already explained that it may be a burden to platinum- users.

I find it quite dumb to keep all these tags separate.

We don't really decide about tags because of search limits, otherwise it would have been an argument to keep all the pantyshot_(sitting/etc) tags.
While this is, to be fair, kind of another case, I still agree with NNT and Unb.
