Most of these are small things.
I implied the games to pokemon_(game), since that seems to be the usual stance.

Below are a list of tags that i haven't added because of their ambiguous nature. Added to them are some personal footnotes.

-why does pokemon_bw2 not imply pokemon_bw, unlike how pokemon_emerald implies pokemon_rse?
-unsure how to imply manga based on the game, should it imply the base game or not?
-should there be a pokemon_(card_game) umbrella tag?

I don't think a lot of these pokemon_(game) implications are necessary. Part of the reason we have that tag is to distinguish between multiple versions of characters. For example, I can search dawn_(pokemon) pokemon_(anime) to find posts of the anime version of Dawn rather than the game one. Just pokemon_dppt_(anime) wouldn't be sufficient because she also made appearances in the Black and White and Sword and Shield series later on, with a slightly different design in the latter case. With a lot of the copyrights above, there is no such split that necessitates the tag. Maybe keep the ones that have confirmed ties to the main series games like Pokemon Stadium and implicate the rest to the main Pokemon tag.

I also don't think sequel games should be implicated to their prequel, such as in the case of New Pokemon Snap -> Pokemon Snap and Pokemon BW2 -> Pokemon_BW. These are separate games rather than different versions. The reason we implicate Emerald to RSE and Platinum to DPPT is because they're just different versions of the same game within the same generation and have broadly the same content. We could, for example, create a pokemon_snap_(series) tag and implicate both Snap games to that, but given the low post counts involved I'm not sure it's necessary.

On the subject of a BDSP -> DPPT implication, I think that might be ok. Implicating FRLG/LGPE to RGBY, HGSS to GSC, and ORAS to RSE seems wrong since there are some radical differences in character designs across the board (the main thing that these copyrights are distinguishing between), but in the case of BDSP the game is visually almost identical to DPPT outside of the overworld chibis and the new player outfits. You can often only tell the difference between the two because the artist wrote the copyright on the image or in the description, and to me that's a warning sign that things could be done differently.

Be that as it may, BDSP are not one to one copies that only feature updated graphics; some content from these remakes is new, not existing in the originals. BDSP's Ramanas Park replaces DPPT's Pal Park and looks vastly different (especially inside the caves scattered about), and as you mentioned, the heavily-memed chibis also were not present in DPPT. These are two things I would not want to see when searching for the original game.

Additionally, we don't even know what's in store in terms of updates. People have been glitching through walls to confirm that yes, there are inaccessible areas of the game scheduled for release in future updates. Who's to say we won't see more BDSP-exclusive in the future? A hasty implication may bite us in the ass for that.

All that being said, posts that merely mention the letters "BDSP" in commentary really ought to be tagged as DPPT. If nothing at all distinguishes a post as being from either game, then it should default to the originals.

create alias pokemon_black_&_white -> pokemon_bw

Agreed

create implication pokemon_bdsp -> pokemon_dppt

Disagree. BDSP has content that is completely new and does not exist in Diamond, Pearl or Platinum. While I'm still unsure of chibi being automatically tagged as BDSP, the different outfits alone for the protagonists as well as some slight NPC trainer redesigns (Lass and Poke Kid) make the tag warranted on it's own

create implication pokemon_dppt_(prototype) -> pokemon_dppt

Agreed, I think all protoype/beta material should be tagged with the original games as well

Username_Hidden said:

create implication new_pokemon_snap -> pokemon_snap

Disagree. They are two separate games entirely and the pokemon_snap tag seems to be treated for the N64 game only rather then a tag for the entire series. I think what you are looking for is a new catch all tag for Pokemon Snap but I don't think that should be it, or a new tag should be made specifically for the N64 game.

There is no sword and shield anime would someone please put the right tag for Pokemon 2019/ Pokemon journeys ever since the whole change to localized names and english terms no one seem to want to fix that.
