The same could be said to a bunch of (almost every) other Chinese copyrights and even some Japanese ones. The western fandom is predominantly casual weebs who doesn’t care about meta knowledge. See topic #23510 for a more elaborated discussion.

Shouldn't it be the other way around? Is there any particular reason to use an abbreviation for a copyright tag? ex. konosuba, oregairu, onimai, anohana, oreimo. Also it’s two exclamation marks instead of one.

I believe Sukisho is the most well known copyright of the name, especially considering it's used on platforms such as Crunchyroll.

create alias wolf_game_(studio_wasabi) -> ookami_game_(studio_wasabi)
create alias werewolf_game_(studio_wasabi) -> ookami_game_(studio_wasabi)

The original name of the game is 狼ゲーム, which translates to "Ookami Game". I have no idea where the tag name came from but there's no official English title. "Ookami Game" translates to "Wolf Game," which is what the western fandom primarily recognizes it as.

Where would "Werewolf" even come from though? Besides, "Ookami Game" is the official name. Not just "Ookami."

"Studio Wasabi" would be a better qualifier if absolutely needed, it's the company that made the game.

I imagine it might have come from the party game Mafia/Werewolf, a social deduction game where a group of players must find and eliminate the mafia or werewolves among them using social cues or other kinds of reasoning. I'm not familiar with that game, but it seems at least superficially similar from the wiki.

I mean that the "werewolf" qualifier is being used for this game, which doesn't have werewolf anywhere in it. I assume that maybe it's an official version of the English name title.
